Espresso is brewed by forcing a small amount of nearly boiling water under pressure through finely ground coffee beans. Espresso has a high concentration of suspended and dissolved solids, and has crema on top (a foam with a creamy consistency). It serves as the base of other coffee drinks

Americano is espresso with added water (in the ratio 1:2)

Cappuccino when one shot espresso is topped with equal parts steam milk and milk foam.

Latte has similar ingredients as cappuccino. However, the proportion of steam milk is higher.

Flat White is 1/3 espresso and 2/3 steamed milk.

Macchiato literally means ‘marked’. It is single or double shot of espresso topped with a bit of foamed milk

Mocha is espresso and steamed milk topped with chocolate flavour.
